DIGITAL Download. Herily, Mail or Press

"Herily, Mail or Press" was the favourite call of people selling newspapers in Dublin in the 50s as there were three evening papers - Herald, Mail and Press. The Mail was the first to go out of circulation, then the Press so in the end we had "Herily, Herily!"

The Capitol Cinema is in the background at Princes Street and it is only in looking at photos I realise the wealth of buildings we had in Dublin. I remember going to see "The song of Bernadette" I think was in 1958.

The GPO is on the right of the scene and on the left is the "Met" (Metropole cinema). The two films I remember seeing there were "The Graduate" and bringing my younger brother to see "Jungle Book".
