Twenty Five Break
This is a scene from my memory of holidays with relations in Wexford.
Twenty Five was a very popular card game and still is in Ireland. The fifth trick has been won so one game over and now a natural time for a refreshment break. The man of the house has left the card table and is fanning up the fire with the wheel to boil up the kettle. Bottom right man had four tricks and just waiting to win this round/trick but alas his hand was useless.
As it is getting dark the Tilley lamp is being primed ready to light the proceedings. I remember how bright it was - we would call it white-light today and it gave a noise much like someone saying shh! all the time.
